The text of legislation on SLD follows as closely as possible the presentation of the hard copy published version (‘the Queen’s Printer’s copy'). Where there are differences in presentation between legislation types (e.g. Acts and Statutory Instruments), we have tried to reflect these. Also there was a major change in presentational style for printed UK Acts from 2001. This change has been followed on SLD.

Northern Ireland Variations Please note that the presentation of the text and annotations of pre-2006 Northern Ireland statutes will be noticeably different in some respects from that of other legislation on SLD as they will retain some presentational features from the publication 'The Northern Ireland Statutes Revised', from which they were derived.
