Contact and Helpdesk

We value any comments that you may have regarding the UK Statute Law Database (SLD) and we will try to answer your questions about the database and its contents – but please read the following paragraphs about what questions Helpdesk can and can not help with.

Questions Helpdesk CAN help with:

We can help users with such matters as SLD functionality or how to use the search facilities. We will also be happy to answer questions concerning the database and its contents and we always welcome information about any errors or omissions on SLD.

Please help us to provide a better and faster service  by checking whether your questions have already been addressed in the Frequently Asked Questions or the relevant topic in SLD Help before contacting Helpdesk. You may also be able to find the help you need from the websites listed on our Useful Links page.

Questions Helpdesk can NOT help with:

We ask you to bear in mind that SLD exists as an online resource enabling users to carry out their own research in UK legislation using the search facilities provided. We regret that our staff are unable to carry out any research on users’ behalf and can not offer any legal advice, not even advice regarding the correct interpretation of legislation. Our task is purely an editorial one – we do not have any sources of legal advice at our disposal and we do not have the resources to carry out any research ourselves on users’ behalf.

With regret, we must decline any requests for legal advice or to carry out research for you and we apologise for any offence that our refusal may cause.
